SAY IT LOUD: Who’s Talking?
Zaterdag 10 april, 15:00 - 16:30 uur, Nederlands
Keynote sprekers:
Marian Duff (Oprichter en directeur-bestuurder OSCAM), Raquel van Haver (Deelnemend kunstenaar SAY IT LOUD), Hans van Houwelingen (Deelnemend kunstenaar SAY IT LOUD), Stijn Huijts (Directeur Bonnefanten en curator SAY IT LOUD), Alle Jong (Deelnemend kunstenaar SAY IT LOUD), Juul Sadée (Deelnemend kunstenaar SAY IT LOUD)

4 ARTISTS IN DIALOGUE: STORIES ON DECOLONIZATION AND DIVERSITY
Sunday 11 April 2021, 14:00 – 15:30, English
In this dynamic livestreamed event, 4 artists from different disciplines will share their views on (de)colonization and diversity.
Writer Sylvia Pessireron, whose parents arrived in The Netherlands about 70 years ago, will talk about the painful and often ignored (colonial) history of The Moluccas and The Netherlands.
Visual artist Juul Sadée will elaborate on the art objects that she created in collaboration with Moluccan women from Maastricht, especially for the SAY IT LOUD exhibition. These works zoom in on the invisibility of Moluccan women in colonial history and current times.
Dutch pop artist Sef (Yousef Gnaoui) will join via Zoom to discuss his work and methods. Sef made a song based on BLKNWS, the video installation by artist Kahlil Joseph that’s one of the highlights of the exhibition.
Last but not least there’s Raquel van Haver. Her collection of grand, sculptural paintings is an absolute showstopper of Say It Loud. Her paintings, inspired by visits to Colombia, her place of birth, will be the last topic of discussion.
Story-Line brings storytellers from different disciplines together on stage to share or perform their stories: authors, journalists, film makers, photographers, artists, actors. In Story-Line events these stories offer you a broad perspective on different topics. Additional partners for this event are Bonnefanten Museum and Interdisciplinary Arts (iArts Maastricht).
