- All visitors are required to wear their entrance sticker in a visible spot.
- Bags larger than A4 size, rucksacks and umbrellas must be left in the cloakroom and are not permitted in the museum.
- Coats must not be carried over the arm.
- Food and drink are not permitted.
- Photography without a flash is permitted.
- In accordance with the terms and conditions of visit, the museum is entitled to ask visitors to cooperate with a security search when entering or leaving the building.
- There is CCTV surveillance throughout the museum.

The Bonnefanten is a great place for wedding photos. Taking photos on the tower is only permitted under certain conditions (please note that additional security charges may apply).
Please contact us in advance on 043-329 0111 or via reservations@bonnefanten.nl to let us know when the photo shoot will take place and to discuss what is possible. We will then notify the relevant departments of your visit and can inform you if any special activities are planned for that day. If you are coming only with the photographer and the bridesmaids or pageboys, there is no charge for this.

The Bonnefanten is certainly suitable for children. To make the visit even more enjoyable for children, there are special hands-on activities for different age groups and families.
No. Pets are not permitted, with the exception of officially registered assistance dogs. Assistance dogs, kept on a lead and wearing a harness, are allowed into the museum upon presentation of their ID card.

Our parquet floor is made of a hardwood called keruing.
The tower is open, where possible, during the summer months of July and August and during special events. Visits to the tower are always weather-dependent; in the event of bad weather, even previously announced visits will unfortunately be cancelled.
The name Bonnefanten derives from one of the museum’s former locations, the Bonnefanten Convent building in Maastricht. In the 18th century, this convent was popularly known as the ‘Couvent des bons enfants’ (Convent of the Good Children), because the young people were brought up so exemplary by the nuns. Before long, the convent became known in Maastricht as the Bonnefanten.
